"Babaji - Eternal Consciousness in the Immortal Body"
The Doctrine and Practice of Himalayan Yogis on God Realization and Physical Immortality
The Great Mystery
This book is devoted to the most mysterious Himalayan immortal yoga Master - Maha Avatar Babaji. Maha in Sanskrit means "great", Avatar - "divine incarnation", Babaji - translated as "dear father". In fact, Babaji is not a name, but a respectful appeal to a sage.
Since the middle of the twentieth century, many books have been published about him, a great number of assumptions about his life and philosophy have been expressed, but Maha Avatar Babaji still remains a great mystery. He lives in the Himalayas, although sometimes he appears in different parts of the world, in order to meet his students.
Babaji the Immortal
Maha Avatar Babaji is on the absolute level of divine self-realization, which includes physical immortality. For most people, it's difficult even to accept the very possibility of physical immortality.
Truly, this is an inconceivably high spiritual level, which hardly fits with limited human consciousness. Maha Avatar Babaji is the supreme teacher even among the immortal Himalayan Mahatmas and Siddhas.
My meeting with Yogi Ramaiah
In the 90s I was a student of a wonderful Indian Guru: Yogi Ramaiah (1923 - 2006). My acquaintance with Yogi Ramaiah began in 1993 and lasted until the end of his life.
Yogi Ramaiah taught me the practice of Kriya Yoga for several years. The memory of his wise understanding of the spiritual path remains in my heart forever.
The uniqueness of Yogi Ramaiah was that he was a direct disciple of Maha Avatar Babaji, he also met other Himalayan immortal teachers, such as Agastia, Goraknath, Boganatar and Nagaraj.
Yogi Ramaiah was little known during his life, but his fame grew after he left this world, such was his unusual mission. All his life he taught a small circle of students, passing on the ancient knowledge and practices of Kriya Yoga.
In this book, I talk in detail about the unique life of Yogi Ramaiah and of his communications with Maha Avatar Babaji.
Sources of information about Maha Avatar Babaji
There are wonderful books that are the main sources of information about Maha Avatar Babaji. The first who informed the spiritual community about the existence of the immortal Babaji was Yogananda, who in 1946 wrote "Autobiography of the Yogi." Thanks to this book, the world first learned about the existence of Babaji, as well as the ancient tradition of Kriya Yoga.
After the publication of Yogananda's book, many authors published books about Maha Avatar Babaji and his teachings. In some ways, these books are similar, but there are a number of serious differences and even contradictions between them.
Different teachers give different details and sometimes mutually exclusive information about the life and philosophy of Maha Avatar Babaji. This is a very mysterious topic. I think it's better not to delve into meaningless discussions, but let everyone follow their point of view about who the great Babaji is and what is the essence of his spiritual mission on Earth. Even if different authors had different points of view about his life and teachings, this should not serve as a basis for discord.
I hope that my book will bring you inspiration and joy. Let Maha Avatar Babaji bless us
